RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Richmond police say two shootings at a public housing community have left four adults dead.
The police department said in a statement Monday that officers were called to Gilpin Court around 4:30 a.m. Sunday for a report of random gunfire. When they arrived, they were directed to an apartment, where they discovered the bodies of three people who had been fatally shot.
A little over an hour later, police at the scene of the first shooting heard gunfire nearby. They found a man’s body on the ground.
Police are asking anyone with information to call detectives. They say they don’t have any information to suggest the two shootings are connected.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports the shootings bring the number of killings in the city to eight in as many days.
