Teacher, high school student arrested in beer theft

RESTON, Va. (AP) — A teacher and student at a Fairfax County high school have been arrested after police say they teamed up to steal a case of beer. Police say that 30-year-old Fabiana Ciammaichella (see-AH’-meh-SHELL’-eh), a Spanish teacher at South Lakes High School in Reston, and an 18-year-old male sophomore at the school have both been charged with drug, alcohol and larceny offenses. Police nab man accused of assaulting sleeping women in hotel

MANASSAS, Va. (AP) — A man accused of sneaking into hotel rooms and sexually assaulting his victims as they slept has been arrested following a sting operation in northern Virginia. Prince William County police said Monday that 31-year-old Brandon C. Murdock of Front Royal was charged with burglary and attempted aggravated sexual assault. Police believe Murdock entered rooms at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in Manassas and sexually assaulted a 63-year-old woman visiting from overseas in September and two teenage girls on a school-related trip from South Korea last October. Man ‘lucky to be alive’ after metal rod impales windshield

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A Richmond man walked away unharmed after narrowly missing a nearly 50 pound metal rod that pierced through the windshield of his car. WWBT-TV reported Tuesday that John Wyatt says he’s lucky to be alive following the incident which happened while he was driving on Interstate 64. Wyatt says he saw the rod fly off a truck traveling in front of him.
