Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) is pleased to announce that its

charity, The Power of Change, has funds available to support community

programs conducted by local non-profit organizations. Applications are

available on REC’s website at thepowerofchange.org. Non-profit

organizations and charities are encouraged to apply. The program is also

known formally as Operation Round Up®.

Funding for The Power of Change comes from over 15,000 REC members

who voluntarily allow the Cooperative to round up their monthly electric

payment to the nearest dollar. That extra change creates a pool of funds to

support local non-profit organizations that improve the communities they

serve.

Applications are available online at “the power of change dot orgor at any

of REC’s offices. Applications must be returned by 5 p.m. on August 11,

2017.

Nearly 100 local non-profits have received funding from The Power of

Change. REC provides electric service to over 164,000 connections in parts

of 22 Virginia counties.
