Callao, VA – The 2018 General Assembly session adjourned as scheduled on Saturday. Of the 2606 bills submitted by legislators, 874 were approved. However, the most important bill, our state budget, was not, as both houses disagree on Medicaid expansion. Del. Ransone voted against the budget in opposition to the expansion of Medicaid.
Del. Ransone stated: “Not only will Medicaid expansion cause premiums to continue to rise, but will take away funding from education, public safety, and transportation, as well as those who truly need it. I am confident we will have a budget for the Commonwealth soon, even if I have to vote against the budget to oppose the expansion of Medicaid.”
Despite the budget impasse, Del. Ransone continued her work this session on government reform, protecting working families, and preserving Virginia’s sacred history.
