A portion of Route 206 (Dahlgren Road) in King George County will be closed this weekend, and traffic will be directed to follow a short detour route.Route 206 will be closed immediately east of the intersection of Route 218 (Windsor Drive) and Route 624 (Owens Drive), near the Beechwood Office Center, on the following dates:B
Beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 9 through 5 a.m. on Monday, May 12
- Beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 16 through 5 a.m. on Monday, May 19
Signs will be posted to guide motorists along the detour route, which will be Route 218 (Windsor Drive) and Route 301 (James Madison Parkway). Workers are installing a 54-inch drainage pipe underneath Route 206, which requires a complete road closure. The work will occur weather permitting.The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is building new turn lanes along Route 206 at its intersection with Windsor Drive and Owens Drive. When complete, the intersection will include left turn lanes for eastbound and westbound Route 206 traffic turning onto Owens Drive and Windsor Drive.
