The Tappahannock branch of department store chain Peebles has chosen the Essex
County Homeless Organization to benefit from its bi-annual Community Counts program called “30 Days of Giving.” During the 2017 spring campaign which will run April 1st – 30th, the Peebles store in Tappahannock will give customers the opportunity to join them in helping E.C.H.O. provide safe, warm overnight accommodations to the homeless population of the Middle Peninsula and the Northern Neck regions.  Store Manager Tony Adams said Peebles locations in more than 25 states have raised about $3 million dollars 850+ different organizations since the program began. When he heard the ECHO story through a presentation given at his local Lions Club, he felt it was a very worthy mission to support. “We’ve
donated to the WRAR Christmas Wishes, the Northern Neck Foodbank, and several others, but ECHO really impressed us with what they’re trying to do to help local homeless people find shelter during the winter.”  “We are thrilled and thankful that Peebles has chosen ECHO for their local 30 Days of Giving Campaign,” said Board member Barb Jump. “The month-long effort will help raise awareness of
ECHO’s mission to provide the local homeless population with a safe, warm shelter during the winter months. Many area residents don’t even know we have homeless populations on the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck. We definitely do. And when temperatures take a dive, the ECHO shelter can be the difference between life and death.”

Peebles 30 Days of Giving runs from April 1-April 30, 2017. In the Tappahannock store, located at 1366 Tappahannock Blvd., shoppers will find brand name men’s, women’s and children’s apparel, accessories, cosmetics, footwear and housewares.
