The Tappahannock-Essex County Volunteer Fire Department was conducting an orientation training on Sunday morning when they received a call for an active fire at the Perdue Grainery in Tappahannock.
The first arriving units called for truck number 1 due to the height of the fire in the grain bin.
Truck number 1 is the new aerial truck and it was used for the first time. Also two members of the Warrenton Fire Company who were providing the training that morning assisted with the call.
The fire was caused by a dryer malfunction and no estimate of damage was reported.
