During July’s Warsaw Town Council Meeting, Council members voted to push forward with the acquisition of the Gannon Property located in downtown Warsaw.
Long seen as an eyesore, the property was recently identified in an engineering study as a potential location to alleviate flooding along Main Street during heavy rain events.
After pursuing months of negotiations with the property owner, Gannon-Warsaw LLC, Town Council has voted to pursue legal action in an eminent domain case. Mayor Randall L. Phelps stated that the Town “has been left with no other alternative than to pursue legal action for the good of the citizens of Warsaw and given the derelict condition of the building.
Town Manager Joseph Quesenberry stated that the council will hold a Public Hearing at next month’s meeting on Thursday, August 10th .
