Four options were presented to the members of the King George County Supervisors recently on the proposed new courthouse for King George County.
The courthouse is described as crowded and outdated and a new courthouse is estimated to cost $29 ½ million to build a 63,000 square-foot facility next to the King George Sheriff’s Office.
Most county officials who use the courthouse and addressing the needs of a 21st-century facility said that it was the best option so far. Another option suggested was to expand the current courthouse and or renovating but none were considered suitable.
Supervisors are still considering all options before bringing it up for a vote.
