Plea Hearing Set for Businessman in Navy Bribery

The founder of a Chesapeake business is expected to plead guilty for his role in a bribery scheme involving the Navy’s Military Sealift Command. A plea hearing is scheduled for Timothy Miller in federal court in Norfolk on Thursday. Prosecutors say he paid bribes to two officials working for Military Sealift Command in order to steer Navy contracts to his company. Those two public officials as well as Miller’s former co-workers have already pleaded guilty in the case.
