Tappahannock  – St. Margaret’s was alive with activities last summer with the debut of its revamped Kids Camp program for boys and girls. “It was nonstop fun and the kids didn’t want to leave,” said Camp Director, Cynthia Walker. “We had so many good comments from parents and requests to do more, that we’ve expanded the program for 2017.”

Walker has significant capacity for developing a positive camp experience where children and youth can enjoy the river with family and friends, learn to be a part of a close community that values life lessons and character development, and have lots of fun.

This year, St. Margaret’s is offering three summer camps, including Kids Camp, a day camp for boys and girls, ages 5-12; River Camp, an overnight camp for boys and girls, ages 8-15; and a Family Camp with fun activities on the river for families to enjoy together. “St. Margaret’s has extensive resources to enhance the experience of campers in each of these sessions,” commented Walker. The St. Margaret’s campus offers unique exposure to the Rappahannock River for recreation and learning experiences. The campus also offers an air conditioned gym, art room, activities center with game tables, an athletic complex, comfortable housing, and access to indoor and outdoor pools.

Expanding from two to four sessions, Kids Camp runs June 18–June 22, June 25–June 29, July 2–July 6, and July 9–July 13. Each five-day session runs from 7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. The cost is $200 per session.
There will be two River Camp Sessions on June 25–June 29 and July 9–July 13. Each session begins on Sunday with a 3:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m. check-in and ends at checkout on Friday at 3:00 p.m. The cost is $700 per session.

A Family Camp session will be held on July 13–June 15 for family members of all ages to have fun on the river. Family camp begins on Friday with check-in from 4:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. and checkout on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The cost is $600.00 for the weekend for a family of four ($100 extra for each additional family member).
