20-year-old Dijon Whitter of Yorktown was sentenced to 50 years in prison for killing an 18-year-old and wounding three others in a mass shooting in Ware Neck in January 2016. Whitter pleaded guilty to second degree murder and seven other felonies during his trial that took place back in July.

Wittier was sentenced last week in Gloucester County Circuit Court to the 40-year maximum for second degree murder, the 20-year maximum for each of the two malicious wounding charges and 45 years for aggravated malicious wounding. The sentences will all run concurrently, for a total active sentence of 45 years.
