Tappahannock, VA –25th October 2024 – The Town of Tappahannock is excited to announce the completion of Phase One of Tappahannock Central Park, a new community space designed to bring families and neighbors together. The park now features pickleball and tennis courts, a vibrant children’s playground and a refreshing splash pad, which will be open for use during the spring and summer months.
While we had initially planned a grand opening celebration for this month, recent weather conditions required us to delay the event. We are excited to announce that a festive grand opening will be held in 2025, when we can properly celebrate this exciting new chapter for our town with the entire community.
“The completion of Phase One is just the beginning,” Mayor Roy Gladding stated. “We’re building a park that will serve as a gathering point for our town, offering a space where people can play, relax, and take pride in the community we’re all a part of.”
“We are proud to see Tappahannock Central Park becoming a reality,” said Town Manager Eric Pollitt. “Even though the weather delayed our celebration, the park is open and ready for families to enjoy. The official grand opening will be an exciting event next year.”
As part of the park’s development, Phase Two will begin soon and will include the construction of restroom facilities and a shaded seating area, making the park even more accommodating for community events and gatherings.
