WRAR-FM, established in 1971 & WNNT-FM established in 1967, both studios are in the historic business district of Tappahannock. The WNNT transmitter is located in Warsaw and the WRAR transmitter is located about five miles south of Warsaw, to provide maximum coverage of the Northern Neck /Middle Peninsula region.

National Award.  In 2003 Hurricane Isabel devastated the Northern Neck/Middle Peninsula area.  In recognition of their continuous coverage before, during and after the storm, WRAR received the prestigious “Service to America, Friend in Need” award by the NAB.  This recognition is awarded nationwide to only one radio station annually.

Programming.  WRAR’s musical format is a lively blend of familiar adult contemporary hits from the 80’s, 90’s and today, plus a generous mix of timeless oldies including R&B favorites.  Along with news, reliable information, and a never-ending flow of promotions, WRAR has become the area’s leading radio station.  From the Urbanna Oyster Festival to the Montross Fall Festival, you’ll see the WRAR “Fun Bunch” on location. WNNT, also known as “River Country” has a musical format of Country.  From the legends of Johnny Cash, George Jones and Tammy Wynette to today’s country hits by Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Rascal Flatts and many others, we’ve got Country covered!

News.  ABC News every half hour during the morning show, then hourly throughout the day.  Local and Virginia news is reported several times each day.   Associated Press news bulletins are reported immediately whenever they occur.

Weather.  Broadcast every twenty minutes during peak listening times. We monitor the National Weather Service for urgent weather statements and provide continuous coverage during storms.  Known as “The Weather Station,” residents in a ten county area rely on both WRAR & WNNT for official school closings.

Sports.  WRAR is an official play-by-play station for UVA college football and basketball.  WNNT is your NASCAR Racing Station and an official play-by-play station for Virginia Tech college football and basketball.  Scores of national, state, and local high schools are reported daily.

Stock Market Reports.  The DOW and NASDAQ trends are reported with a final wrap-up following the close.

Sunday Morning Inspiration.  A Sunday tradition on WRAR-FM since 1973, this entertaining program features uplifting gospel music, hosted by Rev. Mike Taylor.  He has a faithful following among a diverse audience including African-American adults.

Gospel Greats. This radio program is a fast-paced, entertaining, encouraging and uplifting Southern Gospel show. The Gospel Greats program spreads the Gospel through the positive and changeless Gospel message found in today’s best Southern Gospel music, with integrity and class. Sundays 7–8am & 9–10am           Reggie’s Good Ole Gospel Singing. Produced locally and hosted by our very own Reggie Brann. Sundays 8-9am
