If you find yourself interested in the work of genealogy, join at Menokin on August 19th from 11 AM to 2 PM for “Know Your Genealogy” with Cara Griggs and Lydia Neuroth from the Library of Virginia. It is a beginner-level workshop that enables people of all ages with new skills to begin their genealogical research journey.
This workshop will teach you how to access African American materials from your state library and the “Virginia Untold” digital project for documentation of enslaved and free Black people pre-1865. A guided tour of Menokin is included.
