Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares and House Speaker Don Scott Jr., D-Portsmouth on Wednesday announced reductions in a dozen Virginia cities where a program called Operation Ceasefire is in operation.
Operation Ceasefire, which emphasizes both prosecution and community efforts to prevent crime, was announced in October 2022 as part of Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s Operation Bold Blue Line. Both projects consisted of a series of investments in law enforcement training, recruitment, equipment, and prosecution.
