As Tropical Storm Debby draws closer to Richmond, the projected rainfall in the area has lowered, but flooding and tornado possibilities are still up in the air.

The National Weather Service Forecast Office in Wakefield estimates that the region could see 3 to 4 inches of rain Wednesday night through Saturday morning, with the heaviest rainfall occurring late Thursday into early Friday.

The storm’s heaviest rainfall in Virginia is expected to occur west of the Interstate 95 corridor to the Blue Ridge Mountains.
