Virginia is granting more than $3.9 million to protect 621 acres of lands where Civil War battles raged, including two sites in Henrico County and one in Dinwiddie County, Gov. Glenn Youngkin said.

In all, the grants from the Virginia Battlefield Preservation Fund program were to fund 10 preservation efforts. Seven will go to buy property and three to acquire open space easements on land.
