The Virginia Department of Education released data on Friday that indicates how each school in the state would be rated under the new school accountability system based on last school year’s academic data.
Across the state, 15% of schools would be rated “distinguished,” 50% “on track,” 23% “off track” and 12% “needs intensive support,” based on last school year’s data.
Gov. Glenn Youngkin held a news conference on Friday to tout the new system and announce that school performance data is available online to the public.
