The votes are in and the name of the new baby pygmy hippo at the Metro Richmond Zoo is…

Poppy.

The Metro Richmond Zoo hosted a naming contest for the female baby pygmy hippo born Dec. 9. The zoo received more than 116,000 total votes from hippopotamus fans in 165 countries. The choices were Poppy and Hammie Mae.
