Objects, Art, and More and the Writers Guild of Virginia are pleased to announce David Cariens will have a book signing at Objects in Irvington, Va. on May 10th from noon to 4:00 p.m.
Cariens will be signing his 10th and latest book, a memoir titled, Outrageous: Investigating Mass Shootings. This is Cariens’s third book on mass shootings in Virginia. Just as in the first two, all proceeds after taxes and expenses go to charities. The author has spent nearly twenty-five years writing and speaking on behalf of victims of gun violence and their families. He takes no money for this work.
Cariens has donated hundreds of dollars to the Haven Shelter, in memory of Angela Dales, the mother of his oldest grandchild. Angela was gunned down at the Appalachian School of Law in January 2002. Cariens has also donated hundreds of dollars to the Michael Pohle Jr. Scholarship Fund. Michael was killed in the German class at Virginia Tech in April 2007. His father asked the author to write the book.
The author’s other nine books will be available, including, The Murder of Angela Dales: Twenty Years Later and Virginia Tech: Make Sure It Doesn’t Get Out. The author’s books are on his website: www.davecariens.com.
The event is an opportunity for readers to get their books signed and meet an Amazon best-selling author in person. It is also an opportunity to browse an exceptional art gallery and support a local business.
Objects houses fine art, paintings, sculpture, jewelry, pottery, glass, wood, and metal sculpture for a wide variety of artists and genres.
