UPDATE: Route 614 (Potomac Drive) in King George is open after crews installed a new drainage pipe.

FREDERICKSBURG – Route 614 (Potomac Drive) in King George County will close to through traffic between Bennion Road and Commerce Drive during daytime hours on Monday, Oct. 6, and Tuesday, Oct. 7.

Potomac Drive will be closed in the 4300 block from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday.

Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews are closing the road to install a drainage pipe to reduce flooding and standing water on the road.

Potomac Drive will reopen at 3 p.m. Monday with stone covering the new drainage pipe. On Tuesday, crews will close Potomac Drive to replace the stone with asphalt.

Travelers seeking to access driveways on Potomac Drive between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday will be able to access homes by entering and exiting the road from the Commerce Drive intersection.
