ESSEX COUNTY, Va. — The Virginia State Police is investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at approximately 12:44 p.m. on Route 619 (Kino Road) just north of Clarke Lane in Essex County.
A 2019 Kia Sorento traveling south on Kino Road crossed the double-yellow centerline and struck a northbound 2010 Chevrolet Silverado head-on. The driver of the Kia, Devin Nicole Woodland, 29, of Tappahannock, died at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet, Timothy Winn McKinley, 59, of Tappahannock, was airlifted to VCU Medical Center in Richmond for treatment of serious injuries.
The preliminary investigation indicates neither driver was restrained at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation
