Virginia’s local social services agencies say they will run out of state funding to cover their expenses next month if the federal government shutdown extends into December.
They raised the concern as Gov. Glenn Youngkin pledged again Tuesday to cover the cost of food assistance benefits to needy Virginians if President Donald Trump‘s administration ends federal funding Saturday.
