Gov. Glenn Youngkin says it wasn’t Republicans’ message, but the federal government shutdown that fueled a Democratic sweep of statewide offices and a 13-seat gain in the House of Delegates.
After congratulating Gov.-elect Abigail Spanberger he said Wednesday that the new administration will face a challenge dealing with Attorney General-elect Jay Jones, because of Jones’ 2022 text messages in which he fantasized about shooting then-Speaker of the House Todd Gilbert and about harm to Gilbert’s children.
