BLACKSBURG — Virginia Tech students protested on campus Monday as the university’s Board of Visitors met in Alexandria and reviewed an audit on the elimination of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programs.
That meeting marked the first public review since the board dissolved the Office of Inclusive Strategy and Excellence in March, effectively ending Virginia Tech’s DEI initiatives. Monday’s audit found the university has since reallocated $8.4 million that previously supported those programs.
