A fire broke out in the wall behind the N. N. Burger building in Tappahannock shortly before 9am on Monday.
According to the owner of N. N. Burger, Steven Sponder, the fire was in the wall behind the kitchen. Sponder’s daytime manager noticed the fire at 9am when she arrived and the fire caused smoke and soot damaged to an area that was used by a church and an upstairs business called the Governors School.
Sponder said that his rebuilding efforts are underway, but will take time.
