FREDERICKSBURG – Route 636 (Havelock Road) over Scates Millstream in Richmond County is now open after the completion of a culvert replacement project.
Havelock Road over Scates Millstream closed in September 2025 for the installation of a 6-foot by 8-foot concrete culvert.
The new box culvert measures 48 feet in length, longer than a standard school bus.
The 5-mile detour has been lifted and crews are currently removing all the detour signs.
An average of 70 vehicles a day travel on Havelock Road, according to the most recent traffic count.
