Gasoline prices rose above $4 a gallon in parts of Virginia on Wednesday as the United States and Iran traded military blows over control of the Strait of Hormuz, last week ending a ceasefire that had brought consumers temporary relief at the pump.
The statewide average price of regular unleaded gasoline reached $3.96 a gallon, but drivers are paying more than $4 a gallon in Northern Virginia, Hampton Roads and the Fredericksburg area, according to AAA Virginia.
