With a protracted budget battle behind them, Gov. Abigail Spanberger and the General Assembly’s money committees are looking for future sources of revenue to offset cuts in federal government spending on safety net programs and a declining labor market.

Those options include the potential repeal of a state sales and use tax exemption for purchases by data centers that was the center of a budget standoff earlier this year.
