Acompany that provides housekeeping and maintenance to Virginia Commonwealth University Health System is laying off 545 people, the contractor said last week.
Crothall Healthcare has lost its contract with VCU Health and will terminate all employees at the end of October.
The new contract does not impact VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill or VCU Health Tappahannock Hospital in Essex County.
