FREDERICKSBURG – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has scheduled overnight work at the Downing Bridge over the Rappahannock River next week.
Starting Monday, Oct. 26 through early Friday, Oct. 30, Route 360 between Tappahannock and Warsaw will be reduced to one lane between 7 p.m. – 6 a.m. for bridge cleaning.
Bridge cleaning helps to protect structures by removing dirt and debris that can contribute to deterioration.
Message boards are posted at both bridge approaches to alert motorists to the overnight work.
Weather permitting, work on the Downing Bridge is anticipated to be complete by the end of next week.
Drivers can find updates on traffic conditions, work zones and other incidents on 511 Virginia, calling 511 or downloading the free mobile app.
