In a toughly worded opinion nine days before the election, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Sunday upheld a federal judge’s order requiring Virginia to restore some 1,600 Virginians purged from the state’s voter rolls.
The court rebuffed Virginia’s request that it block the judge’s order, issued Friday, to restore the voters removed since Aug. 7 under an executive order from Gov. Glenn Youngkin.
Virginia will immediately appeal the case to the U.S. Supreme Court, according to a spokesman for state Attorney General Jason Miyares.
