Through the first six months of the year, motor vehicle theft incidents rose in Richmond and Chesterfield compared to the same period last year.
This appears to be the continuation of an alarming trend, as 2023 saw a large spike in vehicle thefts and attempted car thefts.
The higher start to the year is concerning for another reason. There tend to be more car thefts in the second half of the year.
