Bills to limit how police use license plate readers stalled in the General Assembly but will return next year once a key sponsor, House Majority Leader Charniele Herring, gets a chance to plow through a ream of evidence about how they’re actually used.
On Thursday, Herring told the State Crime Commission, which she chairs, that she kept asking for evidence about use and misuse last year without success.
