A Virginia campaign treasurer pleaded guilty last week to embezzling more than $840,000 in campaign contributions and committing tax evasion.
The Washington Post reported that Buchanan worked for Virginia Sens. Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, along with other political action committees.
Buchanan faces up to five years in prison for each charge. Her sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 8.
