More than $46 million was awarded to Virginia airports through the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvement Program.
Lynchburg Regional Airport is receiving the most funding, gaining $14.6 million to improve runway lighting and pavement.
Other airports covered under the program include:
- Norfolk International Airport — $8.6 million
- Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport — $7.7 million
- Blue Ridge Regional Airport — $6.2 million
- Winchester Regional Airport — $5.3 million
- Middle Peninsula Regional Airport — $1.7 million
- Louisa County Airport — $600,000
- Mecklenburg Brunswick Regional Airport — $535,650
