CHRISTCHURCH SCHOOL, VA — 29 October 2024

Christchurch School’s 2024 varsity volleyball team has posted decisive wins this fall against Atlantic Shores, The Carmel School, Stuart Hall, Isle of Wight, Chincoteague, Gloucester High School, Grove Christian Academy, and St. Margaret’s School.

Anna Moore ’15 is head coach of the team, assisted by Coach Taylor Carter.

Team captains are Sienna Rowe ’26 of Urbanna, VA and Callie Penick ’27 of Cardinal, VA.

Other local players include: Cece Jablonsky ’25 of White Stone; Macon Kissman ’25 of Deltaville; Avery Thomas ’26 of Cobbs Creek; Namiyah Andrews ’25 of Heathsville; Jaclyn Callis ’28 of North; Teal Cola ’28 of Christchurch; MaryClare Hodges ’26 of Heathsville; Charli Miltenberger ’27 of Ware Neck; and Sage Tietjen-Forsythe ’25 of Gloucester.

The Christchurch School varsity soccer team enters the final week of regular season play with a 9-2-3 record. The team will play a final home game this Tuesday, November against St. Anne’s Belfield School of Charlottesville. The Seahorses are undefeated at home so far this season.

The Seahorses are ranked #1 in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA) Division II polls. Other Division II schools in the top ten ranking are:

VISAA State Championship Playoff rounds begin this week. Teams ranked #1-#4 receive a bye. Christchurch will host the quarterfinals next Monday, November 4 at Nunn Field on the school’s lower campus. The public is welcome to attend. VISAA charges $5 per person, and tickets can be purchased at https://gofan.co/app/school/VISAA.

The championship round will be played at Segra Field in Leesburg, VA on November 11 at 4:30pm.

The CCS Seahorses are coached by Matt Schaefer and Assistant Coach Walker Antonio of Kilmarnock.

2024 captains are seniors Blake Berry of St. Stephens Church, VA and Ignacio Alvarez Pedraja of Zaragoza, Spain.
