The College of William & Mary is getting its largest donation ever, $100 million, to expand its school for marine sciences.
The gift comes from Jane Batten, the widow of the late media mogul Frank Batten. With the funds, William & Mary will rename the department the Batten School of Coastal & Marine Sciences.
