FREDERICKSBURG – The public is invited to learn more and comment on a proposed plan to widen Route 17 in Gloucester County from four to six travel lanes between Lafayette Heights Road and Tidemill Road with the addition of pedestrian improvements.

An in-person design public hearing will be held:

*In the event a backup date is needed, the hearing will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, July 7, at the same location.

This proposed $40.3 million project seeks to expand capacity and improve mobility for all road users along the Route 17 corridor, which carries an average 30,000 vehicles a day in this area.

The public can view project materials on the project page and submit comments using an online survey.

Comments on the project will be accepted at the public hearing and afterward through Thursday, July 10.
