Richmond County, VA— Last week, Delegate Hillary Pugh Kent along with Delegate Keith Hodges, state agency leaders, and community members met for the Virginia Rural Health Care Transformation Listening Session at Rappahannock Community College in Warsaw.
The session, hosted by the Virginia Health & Human Resources Secretariat, provided an update on the Rural Health Care Transformation initiative and its impact on Virginia’s rural communities. Agency leadership delivered a presentation on the program, followed by an opportunity for public input. Community members shared their perspectives on strengthening rural health care, with comments focused on broad, macro-level improvements.
“I was grateful for the chance to hear directly from constituents about their priorities for improving access to care,” said Delegate Kent. “These conversations will help ensure that rural Virginia is well-positioned to take advantage of available grant funding, and bring meaningful improvements to folks across the Commonwealth, especially in our rural communities.”
