Democratic legislators in Virginia’s House and Senate will seek to delay implementation of the state’s new school accountability system that is set to go into effect next school year.
The state Board of Education in August approved a new school accountability system that will publicly rank each Virginia school in one of four performance categories: distinguished, on track, off track and needs intensive support.
