Dominion Energy is building four solar farms and has regulators‘ OK to buy power from 13 developer-owned facilities, which altogether can generate 764 megawatts of electricity, enough to power nearly 200,000 homes.

The cost of the projects is estimated to add approximately $1.54 to a customer’s benchmark monthly bill for 1,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity. Currently, that bill is $133.

On the Northern Neck, Dominion is building a 127-megawatt facility on 820 acres on Maon Road in Richmond County. This project will cost $249 million.
