Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears missed Monday’s daily General Assembly session due to illness, according to her office.
“The Lieutenant Governor had an unexpected foodborne illness that required her to seek medical advice,” her office said in a statement.
Earle-Sears, who presides over the Senate as lieutenant governor, is the presumed Republican nominee for governor.
