Randolph-Macon freshman pitcher Gracie Ellis (New Kent, Va./New Kent) was named All-State First Team and junior first baseman Rilee Baughan (Warsaw, Va./Rappahannock) was voted All-State Second Team as the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) announced their College Division All-State Softball Teams.

Ellis was an NFCA All-America Third Team selection as well as All-Region First Team. She was ODAC Pitcher of the Year, ODAC Rookie of the Year and All-ODAC First Team. Ellis was the Most Outstanding Player of the Ashland Regional. Ellis appeared in 33 games with 25 starts. She went 22-6 with an ERA of 1.21. She led the ODAC and was seventh in the nation with a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 11.62. She topped the ODAC and was eighth in the country with 244 strikeouts and with 23 complete games. Ellis was first in the conference and 10th nationally with 22 victories. She topped the league and was 12th in the country with a WHIP of 0.78.  Ellis tossed a perfect game against Guilford and hurled a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts against Marymount.

Baughan was All-ODAC First Team and a member of the Ashland Regional All-Tournament Team. She appeared in all 46 games and batted .383 with 12 doubles, 11 homers, 37 runs and 53 RBI. Baughan led the ODAC with 11 homers, was second with 53 RBI and third with 101 total bases. As a pitcher, Baughan went 12-5 with a 3.26 ERA. She recorded seven complete games and fanned 54.

The Yellow Jackets finished No. 10 in the final NFCA Top 25 Coaches Poll. R-MC went 35-11, posting the second-most wins in program history. The Yellow Jackets won the Ashland Regional before falling at Eastern Connecticut State in the Super Regional.
