The Essex High School community has been working diligently since January 2019 to improve the existing facilities and make them safe, practical, attractive, accessible and community friendly. They have been able to fund the purchase and installation of new lights for the football/soccer field, new restrooms and a concession stand, track, fencing, new bleachers and press box, tennis courts, and practice fields thanks to grants secured through the school board administration and Dr. Harry R. Thomas III. Sports have been the power to teach important life skills such as patience, self-confidence, humility, accountability, discipline, pride and teamwork. Now, help is needed to continue this project to make the final vision a reality. The Athletics Facilities Improvement Committee is a 501(c)(3) organization and is seeking tax deductible donations. They are asking supporters to Buy A Brick! ($150 suggested donation)
