The season-ending Heathsville Farmers Market is Saturday, Oct. 21st, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This celebration of the harvest will include a Blessing of the Animals, courtesy of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church at 10 am. Bring your pets! Meanwhile in the Tavern Meeting Building, the Tavern Quilt Guilt will be holding a Quilt Show and Sale. Located on the grounds adjacent to Rice’s Hotel / Hughlett’s Tavern in Heathsville, the Farmers Market offers Northern Neck produce, baked goods, gourmet peanuts, local meat, and unique artisan handcrafts. There are new vendors at every market. Breakfast and lunch is available at the market’s outdoor food concession stand and in the Tavern Cafe´. Special on Market Day are sweet breakfast treats, warm from the oven. Shop the Tavern’s Gift shoppe and see artisans at work in their studios.
