Two people were injured in an explosion at the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center Yorktown on Friday morning.
The explosion occurred onboard a vessel during routine maintenance at around 11:30 a.m., according to a Coast Guard spokesperson. One of the victims suffered only minor injuries and was treated at the training center, while another was taken to a Norfolk hospital for a “higher level of care.”
