Henrico County is refuting a claim amplified by Elon Musk that there were more than 15,000 fraudulent votes in Henrico County in the 2020 election.
Musk, the owner of the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday night reposted a tweet from 2023 with the claim, asking if it is true.
The county responded to Musk and said the claims were incorrect. The claim that many Henrico precincts saw a voter turnout of over 100% was originally made by Seth Keshel, a well-known election conspiracy influencer.
Henrico County registrar Mark Coakley said it’s important for people to look for the original source when they see information online.
