Attorney General Jason Miyares has filed an appeal with the state Supreme Court, asserting that a lower court incorrectly barred eight of Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s appointees from serving on college boards.

The Attorney General’s Office asserts that a Fairfax County judge lacked jurisdiction to issue the preliminary injunction, that the state senators who sought the injunction failed to meet the required threshold of “irreparable harm” if the nominees took their seats, and that the Democratic state senators who brought the case are unlikely to succeed on their claim.
